You're here? WTF? We gave you $500 to do something Drop Dead Generous and you actually came back, ready to tell us what went down? So cool.

And this is important, right? Because for as long as time we humans have been shaped by the stories we hear. Which means what you did may well inspire someone out there to be, well, more kind. Amazing. But what if your story just so happens to inspire more than one person? Hmmm… then the ripple effect of your initial act of kindness could really and truly change the world. Come to think of it, this is the whole story-fuelled philosophy behind this crazy project.

So here's a plan. Record your story in your voice below and we’ll give it a listen, fall even deeper in love with you and get busy sharing it with everyone we can. On our blog, across socials. Hell, even at the pub. Any questions then we should have you covered in the FAQs. If not, drop John a message.

Here's some prompts for you to think about as you get ready to record your story.

Introduce yourself! Tell everyone who you are, where you're from, and anything else you'd like them to know about you. We'd all love to get a sense of that real person behind this act kindness - you!

Explain your idea by letting us know who you you wanted to aim your kindness at, why you thought of them and why it mattered to you so much that you wanted to do something about it.

Now for the meat. What actually happened? Take us through each step of your act of kindness and speak from the heart, warts n'all, about what went down.

Feel free to finish up with reflecting on the experience. How did it make you feel? What would you love others to know?

Then say bubye. Or however else you want to sign off.

Faqs

How will you share my story?

For every one of our grantee stories we'll write a blog post and will be in touch to let you know when it's live. As we get more active across socials we'll also scream and shout about any inspiring takeaways these stories inspire in us that we think will do the same for others. It's all a bit of a moveable feast - but we know kindness creates kindness, and that these stories are the key ingredient.

I don't want my story public

This is totally fair enough. Only share what you're comfortable with and if that means none of it, then we respect that. Please do email john@dropdeadgenerous.org if you're happy to share the circumstances privately so we can gather learnings or help in any way.

How do I submit vids etc?

Once you've recorded your story, you'll be given an option to send us any additional content you might have grabbed along the way. We'd certainly love for you to send us anything you're happy to share.
