Lorna makes clothes for premature babies and supports families navigating the trauma of neonatal intensive care. Through her community, she knows a mother whose twins were born at 22 weeks and fought against all odds to survive. Now aged four, one of the twins has cerebral palsy and, despite being told he would never walk, has recently taken his first independent steps. However, the family still faces significant challenges. They have been waiting two years for a wheelchair, their home is not disability accessible, and the mother must often carry her growing child in and out of the house and bath.
With £500, Lorna will offer practical support to ease some of these daily struggles — contributing towards essential equipment like a wheelchair, or funding improvements such as a ramp or more accessible bathroom setup. Her idea is a deeply personal act of generosity, recognising an extraordinary mother’s resilience and providing meaningful, immediate help to make everyday life a little easier.
