Every year, Brazil receives thousands of Haitian refugees. Since the devastating floods of 2024 in southern Brazil, many have lost their homes. Mariana has got to know Frantz, a Haitian seamstress and community leader. Her idea is to use $500 to spark a fundraising drive to raise the $1,100 needed to buy a professional grade, multi functioning sewing machine so he could produce more clothing, increase his income, and most importantly: start teaching others.
