Adaku's father previously ran successful businesses and became a huge inspiration to her as he used much of his profits to support his local communities. However, when his businesses fell on hard times, he had to scale back his community support. Knowing how much it would mean to him to enable him to do this kind of work again, she paid forward the $500 to him in order for him to buy food and once again distribute it to people nearby.
