Edith has explained that in Uganda, a huge amount of girls in the rural parts of Uganda especially, have to skip school every month due to periods. There is little or no preparation for these girls so Edith is using the $500 to teach these girls in the rural areas how to make safe reusable sanitary pads with easy to get and safe materials. Each pad has a lifespan of 3 years, not only helping these girls remain in school but also restoring their confidence and dignity during the menstruation period.
