Edith describes herself as an Innovation Consultant, helping impact founders and organisations turn meaningful ideas into reality. Alongside her professional work mentoring startups and teaching at university, she is deeply involved in non-profit initiatives — from organising four TEDx events to developing projects designed to help people connect and have deeper conversations with one another.
After hearing about Drop Dead Generous in Vienna in 2025, Edith began thinking about how she might use $500 to create something positive. Her idea centres around someone she met through a non-profit project — Kenmei Foxworth, a Buddhist monk originally from the US who is now the official lineage holder of Kogen-ji, a temple of the esoteric Shingon Buddhist mountain tradition in Fukuyama, Japan.
Kenmei hopes to share the wisdom and practices he has received at the temple with people around the world, offering teachings that promote kindness, reflection and inner peace. While he has already built an international website, resources are limited and he currently lacks the equipment needed to create video content.
With $500, Edith will buy a vlog camera for Kenmei so he can record and share teachings online — spreading messages of compassion and positivity far beyond the temple walls. What begins as a simple act of generosity could ripple from the UK, to Austria, to Japan, and then out into the wider world through the people who encounter his work.
